Founded in 1991. 2006 began for the CFA Society of Mexico (CFASM) with radical new challenges. The Society had slipped into a state of inactivity, from which we were awoken by the CFA Institute Home Office. During the course of March, CFA Institute officers convened a General Assembly of CFA’s, CFA Candidates registered in Mexico, and MESFA Associate Members. The meetings sought to understand the current state of affairs and determine the possibility of the Society to continue as a going concern. As a result of said meeting, a consensus for reform and change was reached. This consensus resulted in a series of actions that has included a radical overhaul of existing Society structures; new officers were elected, Society bylaws were amended, and new operational committees were established. This degree of change was considered necessary to jump start the internal processes, and reclaim membership interest. To further emphasize this point and avoid any legal contingencies, the Society (MESFA) legally dissolved and regrouped under a new legal denomination (CFASM).
